Desert Dawn Private School offers three programs designed to educate children ages 18 months through 6 years old.  Our Bunny Room is for toddler’s age 18 months to 3 years old, the Goat Room is for children 3 and 4, and the Pony Room is for children 4 – 6 years old and includes our Kindergarten.

Bunnies: Ages 18 months-3

The youngest children who attend Desert Dawn are the Bunnies. For these young students school is a new and exciting experience. Classroom learning involves hands-on, age adapted learning in various subjects including math, reading, writing, listening skills, and art.  Outdoor learning, exploration, and physical development is also and important component to Desert Dawn’s holistic education model. Most learning activities take place in small groups and learning centers. Learning centers stress projects that coordinate mind, hand and eye such as math manipulative pieces, puzzles, and building materials. Children work on number and letter recognition and distinguishing different shapes and colors. As a child’s first exposure to school, it is vital to make it a positive experience.
